Dorkada is a refugee village in the district of Lagada in the prefecture of Thessaloniki, at an altitude of 550 meters.
Its inhabitants settled as refugees in the area in 1922, coming from the village of Karatzakioi in Eastern Thrace, which was famous for its cheese-making. The name of the new home "Dorcas" is a kind of roe deer, given in memory of their birthplace. Residents, as knowledgeable in the art of dairy - cheese, created small workshops. Perhaps the most famous of all the products is Dorkados yogurt, of exceptional quality for its different preparation.
